Each BlackBerry device is unique. Whether it is the Pearl, Curve, Storm or Bold, the phone comes equipped with an eight-digit PIN. The PIN, which is the identification device for the phone, can be located under the phone's settings icon in the status section. The PIN has several uses.

2. In case the phone is damaged, the PIN is the way of identifying the exact model and contract for the phone.
